Two excellent books to share!
An American in Scotland by Lucy Connelly (Adult Mystery)
Another cozy mystery for the win! Dr. Em, an ER doctor moves from Seattle to Sea Isle Scotland for a change of pace and to start fresh after the dissolution of a rocky marriage and the death of her mother. On her first evening in her new home she finds the dead body of a man nobody really likes. She quickly discovers she's also the coroner, which means she's wrapped up in an investigation that involves death threats and a rather overprotective constable. I enjoyed the plethora of details about her new home/practice (both are in a church), the town and its characters, and her many food adventures. I also appreciated how the supporting characters were just as fleshed out as Dr. Em, and their presence wasn't just to support the main character. The support went both ways. The sequel comes out in January 2024, and I will be first in line for a copy!
We Inherit What the Fires Left by William Evans (Adult Nonfiction - Poetry)

From Acres:
"Can you haunt
a home you never laid your bones in?
Do ghosts choose their captivity?"
