At the library today a kid who was about eight or nine years old asked me to help him find some Who Would Win books. After he looked through the stack of books I found, he asked if he could leave the ones he already read out on the shelf so other kids could see them. I told him I would put them out on the book easels.
I started straightening the shelves and putting away the books from the easels to make room for his recommendations. That’s when I realized he was still standing there. I asked if I could help him find anything else, and he said no. As soon as I finished displaying his recommendations, he left. He was just making sure I followed through! Future librarian? I think so!
